pursuing phptography as a hobby and avocation for 30 years. John captures the
essence of his subject through careful study and the composition of a perfect image.
He travels throughout the world gathering images which reflect our natural world
through his lens. He enjoys hiking to an isolated spot to find an unusual bird or
animal in order to capture its beauty. Or sometimes, the opportunity comes right
from the car!His favorite subjects are raptors, and he loves to photograph them soaring and diving
for prey. Flight photography has developed into the most enjoyable and challenging
aspect of his avocation And the beauty of perching birds , such as the spectacularly
plumed warblers, also is revealed through his lens. The task of photographing these
birds is just as difficult as photographing the raptors. Warblers are small, rare and constantly moving in their search for food, which makes them difficult to capture in
the camera. If you have never seen the wood warblers, you will be amazed at the
beauty of these tiny birds which is revealed in John's photographs. Even your familiar
